We went on our first mystery trip in Germany - the kids and Brad had little idea as to where we were going to go (these were a memory of my childhood - we used to take mystery trips all the time). I let Brad in on the secret Friday evening - we left Saturday morning by car to one of Europe's famous travel destinations (at least according to the Internet it is...) the town of Titisee. It is only 30ish minutes by car from Freiburg in the Black Forest.
We started something new and I have added slide shows (see below right) of our adventures, our neighborhood, the kids school etc... This way you can see more pictures. Click on the picture and a new window will open for you to view all the pictures from the slide show.
We went on a paddle boat ride on Lake Titisee (where we had lunch), to a pool area and park by the lake, a Ferris wheel ride and had a yummy snack before we left for home. We were there for over 5 hours. The kids did great but as soon as we got in the car - Abby was asleep. We plan to go back - there is a train ride around the lake that we will do - it takes you through the hills and around the lake.
Our next adventures will take us to Basel Switzerland for a great zoo and France for a castle and a monkey park... What a life these kids have. Brody told us yesterday that he wants to live in Germany and get married here....
We made out first batch of cookies (chocolate chip) and they are pretty good. It is the picture with Brody wearing his Batman mask. Yummy!
Have a great end to August - it is hard to believe that we will have been here a month. We are having a great time. Abby's birthday comes up in September and Meme and Poppy are visiting at the end of the month.
This week (August 22-27) is pretty low-key - local parks and some friends over next weekend.
Happy Birthday Regan (August 22nd) - big #6! We love and miss you.
