The journey begins...

Hello family and friends -
We left Kalamazoo the afternoon of Tuesday - July 26th and arrived in Freiburg, Germany the afternoon of July 28th after 2 planes, 1 train and 1 taxi ride to our Hotel (Mercure). The kids were amazing on the plane and when we took off in Kalamazoo Abby said 3-2-1 BLASTOFF! It was really fun to travel with them - their excitement made the trip so enjoyable.
We were supposted to move into our flat July 29th but due to some mis-communication we will move in August 1st. So we have stayed in 2 other hotels (Novetel and Colombi) and really just explored the town of Freiburg. The city is so full of life and action. We walked around all day yesterday (or I should say Brad, Brody and I walked -- Abby was carried) - Saturday and the town was so busy with people shopping, going to the markets and enjoying the great weather.
We have learned quickly that our American children are not used to the walking...thus we will be investing in a stroller for Abby. Brody has been doing a great job walking and they love playing in the little canals/ rivers that run through the city.
We are looking forward to getting our flat - due to our poor German language skills our ordering ability is limited. They have eaten a fair amount of pasta and pizza.
We have posted some pictures below of our first few days in the city.
All our love,
Brad, Nancy, Brody and Abby
